Holy Trinity provides a very wide range of sporting activities both in school time and also as part of its extensive extra-curricular provision. Despite being a centre-of-town school, it is fortunate to have a field, recently re-levelled and re-turfed, which is used throughout the year. Adventure Trail play equipment and our Nature Trail, as well as the use of bikes, trikes and scooters for the younger pupils, are popular features that help children make the most of outdoor play opportunities.
All children participate in an average of two hours physical education per week, and this is supplemented by activities that take place at lunchtime and after school. In addition swimming tuition is offered to all Key Stage 2 children (ie 7-11 yr olds).
Extra-curricular activities on offer vary depending upon the time of year; they include a games skills club for younger children, football, hockey, netball, cricket and rounders. A link with Cheltenham Town Football club provides an opportunity for expert football coaching, and frequent use is made of specialist coaches during lesson time, for example, in the teaching of cricket and tennis.
Matches are often held against other schools and we regularly participate in sporting tournaments and festivals. The school also takes part in the annual Cheltenham Country Dance Festival.
