Holy Trinity Church of England Primary School

Links with Trinity Church

Partnerships with our church are highly effective and links are well established. Staff from Trinity contribute significantly to the life of the school so that there is mutual and substantial benefit for all. The church hosts an annual Joiners Service for children joining our school in Reception and presents leavers with a Bible as they transfer to secondary school. The church funds the purchase of Scripture Union material for our youngest and eldest pupils for which we are grateful as it is part of our wider transition processes. Christian festivals are celebrated at Trinity and are very well attended. Each week, children’s workers from Trinity lead an over-subscribed extra curricular lunchtime club called Telling The Story. They also lead Open The Book weekly. This is a whole school collective worship which sets out the values of the school in their Christian context in an engaging way. A pastor from Trinity also comes into school to lead collective worship over the course of the academic year.  Our school values prayer and reflection as part of a spiritual journey. As such we have an active Prayer Group which meets six times a year and are currently establishing a Garden of Quiet to further extend opportunities for personal reflection.  Several families attend Family Tree (Trinity’s Family Centre), Tandem (for those parenting alone) and Kids Events (such as the annual Light Party)
