“A village school
in a town setting”
What is School Council?
A school council is a group of pupils elected by their fellow pupils to represent their opinions and raise issues with the Headteacher and governors in the school. School Council members at Holy Trinity take time to listen to all pupils and communicate their views. They then feed back to pupils about what has happened about their views.
At Holy Trinity, two members from Y2-Y6 are nominated by their peers and each year group then take forward projects on behalf of the pupils. They are involved in presenting ideas, discussing and sorting problems.
Holy Trinity has a very active School Council. We meet every other Thursday with Mrs Hewson in the library. In the past year we have successfully planned the following ideas
Christmas craft competition
Easter Bonnet competition
Termly Healthy School Tuck Shop
Providing additional lunchtime play equipment
Improvements to school dinners
